There’s nothing quite like the elegance and character found on antique surfaces. With Baroque Art Gilders Paste, you can give Kram Décor products a beautiful vintage appearance in just a few easy steps.

Baroque Art Gilders Paste wax is used on metal, wood, ceramics, candles, plastic and more for colouring and highlighting interior and exterior applications.

Use Baroque Art Gilders Paste on:

  • Metal – Wrought Iron, Steel, Aluminium, Alloys etc.
  • Wood – Mouldings, Railings, Furniture, Gilding Restoration, Picture Frames, Mitre Joints etc.
  • Ceramics – Planters, Terra Cotta etc.
  • Resin – Castings, Plastic etc.
  • Wax – Candles etc.
  • Plastics
Before Applying Baroque Art Gilders Paste wax, the Surface should be dry and clean, free of dirt, oil, grease and scale.

Apply Baroque Art Gilders Paste wax :

  • With finger, sponge, toothbrush, paintbrush or cloth in a rubbing motion or use other creative mediums to produce a unique finish.
  • Layered on top of one another or mixed to create different finishes or an endless colour palette.
  • Add highlights brushing on the areas that would normally wear from use.
  • If the Baroque Art Gilders Paste gets hard simply thin out with paint thinner to transform paste wax.
  • The drying time varies depending on substrate and surface preparation, approximately 60 minutes to the touch on dry dust & dirt free surfaces and 12 hours for complete cure time.
  • Polishing the metallic Baroque Art Gilders Paste wax with a soft cloth will produce a gilded finish
  • If left unpolished the finish will be semi-gloss or matte depending on the colour.
    If you’d like to lighten or remove some of the Gilders paste, simply use a paper towel to rub off the desired area within 5 minutes.
  • Once the gilders paste has completely cured (12 hours) apply a approximately 3 light coats of clear matt lacquer or varnish to provide durability.

You will need a tin of Gilders Paste, a small paintbrush, Paper Towel for excess paste on brush and your decorative hardware.

Dab your paintbrush into the gilders paste but take care not to put too much on. Remove excess by brushing off some paste.

Lightly brush gilders paste over the stud until you get the desired look. Emphasise edges and raised areas by applying more coats.

For a brighter look keep on adding more layers of Gilders Paste. Where you have applied to much, simply use thinners to lightly remove and reapply.

Allow to dry and cure overnight.

NOTE: After purchasing your Baroque Art Gilders Paste may have small cracks in the wax and appear somewhat “dried out” – this is normal for this product. You can add a couple drops of turpentine to the container and close the lid. After a few minutes, it should appear looser and the contents will have been restored to a more workable state.
